{In the UK we have Harvest Festivals in our churches, thanking God for the end of Harvest, towards the end of September. These days children's food is quite distanced from the wheat that grows in the fields. This song expresses that, but rejoices that Jesus has sovereign involvement in all our food nonetheless.} | |

Jesus, you didn't make |
Wave pointing fingers L-R-L-R in front of you |
my sandwiches. |
Put one hand out flat, put the other hand flat on top of it - like two slices of bread |
The supermarket's |
Push an imaginary... |
where I get my jam. |
... shopping trolley |
But everything I eat, |
Pretend to eat - |
every yummy scrummy treat: |
- one hand then the other putting things into your mouth |
Your creating power |
Both hands up high above your head |
is where it all began! |
Then spread out and down to your sides in a giant circle |
| |
Jesus I won't ask you |
Wave pointing fingers L-R-L-R in front of you |
for an ice cream; |
Lick an imaginary ice cream |
I'd better get my cookies |
Grab imaginary cookies... |
from a shop. |
...from an imaginary shelf |
But bananas grow on trees, |
Make like a tree |
Jesus you provide the breeze, |
Wave your branches in the wind |
and the sunshine |
Stretch arms out with fingers wide apart on hands |
and the rain for the whole lot! |
Then wiggle fingers as you bring your hands slowly down |
| |
Jesus you're the one |
Point to the sky with two forefingers |
behind the Harvest; |
Then spread out and down to your sides in a giant circle |
it's because of you that |
One arm straight out in front to the right, pointing, |
there are crops to reap. |
then move arm across to the left, pointing on the beat |
O thank you that it's true, |
Thumbs up in front |
that we all depend on you- |
Point to the sky with two forefingers |
Thank you Jesus |
Both hands up high above your head |
that you give us food to eat! |
Then spread out and down to your sides in a giant circle |
| |
