Champion's Challenge

Mandy has emailed asking about songs for Scripture Union's "Champion's Challenge" Holiday Club.

How about these for ideas:

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus – “Let us run and run and run… let’s run the race…” – there’s even a ‘marathon’ verse if you want it, to test their stamina.

It's treasure!

We're singing this song at HotShots today - and I was just having a look on the website and I discovered... it's not on there!

Duh - I wrote this for Summer HotShots 2009, and I haven't recorded it yet - beyond the backing track I used for the Summer Club. Unbelievable. I'd better get on with it, hadn't I?

Holiday Clubs - 1.5 done, .5 to go!

Yes - I'm having a great time. I've done one week at "Backpackers" in Chesham, Bucks (UK), and I'm half way through our very own "HotShots" here in Frogmore, St Albans.

We've been singing two new songs at HotShots - both about TREASURE, since that's our theme.

"It's treasure" is a bouncy general song, based around Philippians 3:8 (and its the first time I've managed to get an F major chord into a song in D - nice!).

"Where's your treasure?" is a bit more unusual, and specifically themed to our 4-day series with verses for each day. One day (...) I'll get them onto the website - and you can enjoy them too!
